sitting there, watching it's prey, the dappled gray falcon squinted his eyes, one blind, the other brown, wings folded at his sides, and, soon enough, bending over, ready to soar at need. his eyes quivered as his prey started to tense and move slowly from one spot to another. one little squeak escaped vayyo's prey, which made his eyes widen is surprise and alert.
no . . it won't get away from him now . . no . .
blinking his brown eyes softly, vayyo let a small squawk escape his beak, then flexing his wings . . this was it . . his mind reeled and his head rose slightly, eyes still glued on the prey, which had no began to perk it's ears, and scurry. squawking once more, the falcon leaned forward, letting himself slip off the branch in a glide towards the earth below him. this meat was his now, there was no reason to stop now. now that that he had his target, his prey.
the little mouse squeaked once more as it raced across the plains. it's beady black eyes seemed to pop out of it's head as it shot from side to side. it's ears twitched, which gave out the sign that the falcon was heard. vayyo gave one flap of his wings, then folded them to his sides as he leaned more forward, his eyes locked on the mouse, and his beak struck out in front of him, ready to snap at any time in attempt to catch his prey.
the mouse kept scurrying forward, a perfect angle for the falcon to catch with ease. suddenly, the mouse cut directions, and shot to a sharp right. this caught the falcon off guard, and he staggered, his eyes widened in surprise as he flexed his wings again, letting him soar out straight, instead of diving downwards.
vayyo's eyes were planted on the ground now, his beak sealed in anger. that had been his chance, and only chance. it's hard enough to find food, let alone catch it. this thought just angered vayyo more, and with no more thought of the just happenings, he flapped his wings, and dove upwards, attempting to get higher off the ground.
he kept a distance of ten feet above the grassy plains, his eyes set upon the earth's surface. maybe, just maybe he'd be able to spot one more small animal before returning to rest. the falcon's eyes shot to and fro, hoping to catch just one glimpse of flesh. his heart throbbed underneath those ruffled feathers of hiss, and he swung his head upward, and with a flap of the wings, he was off. leaning upwards, turning his wings upwards, allowed him to fly upwards. wings flapping, he took one more weary glance down at the grassy plains then gave up. completely.
vayyo gave two flaps of his wings, and rose slightly, shifting his weight to the left. he managed a slight turn. as he glided now, he couldn't help but shake his head shortly, for the fun of it, the feel of it, or to ruffle his feathers. his eyes shifted from place to place, trying to find glimpses of places to stay for a while, rest, shelter.
he gave a few more flaps of his wings, which sent him soaring faster. he squinted his eyes slightly, soon enough, they sighted shelter. a small cave on the side of a rocky mountain. finally . . there . . his mind seemed to clear at the thought of shelter, a place to rest, and he shifted his weight to the right, this lead him to dip downwards slightly as well. straightening himself in flight, the eyes of his, or eye, quivered as they focussed forward.
it was at this time that vayyo had decided to land, so, he folded his wings softly against his sides, letting himself fall down in a dive. his beak set straight and faced to the cave's entrance. he was half way there; almost a third. in advance, his eyes widened slightly in alert, and he, yet again, unfolded his wings, flexing them, leaning back to let her talons grow nearer to the cave surface.
he formed a gust of wind as he flapped his wings constantly, ready to come to a landing. soon enough, his talons hit the solid rock with a clunk, and the constant flapping ceased. he folded his wings back to his side, and shook his feathers quickly before padding carefully deeper into the cave.
it was somewhat dark, if you carried on and stepped deeper into the cave, but the cave opening let light shine inside. it was a small cave in size, from vayyo's view, and to his opinion, could only fit about three to five birds at most.
time to settle himself in, shall he?

`K a t i n k a
What happens when a young Arctic vixen gets bored? Well, the young fox gallops all the way to the freelands and begins to terroize the small animals living on the ground. Katinka was an everlasting ball of energy that just wouldn't stop. The small fox must have travelled miles and yet she wasn't even breaking sweat...well, under her thick fur, she was a little hot. But it didn't seem to slow her down even a little.
Currently, Kat was jumping up and down in the long grasses, each time only her tail could be seen over the tall grass, a white bushy thing with a black tip that waggled like a flag in the strong wind. It was a comical sight, and each time, Kat tried to jump higher so she could see over the towering grass and each time she would fall short. Snorting, she frowned and plonked herself on her haunches, frustrated. "Stupid grass," she growled, black tipped ears pinned back as she stared at the long, thin green strands looming above her.
However, something caught Kat's eyes and she quickly forgot about her goal. A large falcon was flying above, squarking loudly, seemingly to be in frustration. It danced in the air, so graceful in its movements and the way it could so easily pick up speed and dive in the blink of an eye. Kat watched with a mixture of awe, wonder and jealousy. While she was confined to the earth, this bird could soar in the skies with amazing speeds and if it fancied, it could land on the earth. But the bird disappeared as quickly as it had come, and once again Kat was left alone.
It was also when the heavens decided to open and let loose with soaking wet rain. Kat frowned, ears drooping as she sat in the thickening mud, her fur turning from its usual beautiful white to a sticky dull brown. Whining, she stood and shook herself, water flying in all directions as she tried invain to shake the water from her fur. After a few minutes and a realisation that it wouldn't work, Kat decided it was time to find a shelter. Trotting off, she padded through the tall grasses, treading carefully as her paws slid on the wet mud but she finally managed to reach a rocky area where a small cave could be seen.
Ears pricked, Kat surged towards the cave, wanting to get out of this unrelentless rain when she came face to face with a falcon. Yelping, she jumped back, eyes wide in surprise. Well, she certainly hadn't expected that.
