The innumerable stars stood shining in perfect order, the patterns of the constellations it formed standing out bright and clear as if drawn in light. The misty river of the Milky Way flowed elegantly across the heavens, pinned there by the blanket of stars. Luna herself -half covered in sorrow- hung upon invisible strings like a marionette, casting her thin and frail glow upon the darkened forest in a vain attempt to ward away the darkness.
an owl soared through the ebony skys; a perfect white silhouette against the ink hued heavens above. it's appearance was provocative, instilling interest and awe upon any who saw it. The grace and beauty it beheld in flight were truly blessings. Grandiose wings were outstretched, displaying the brilliant golden and white feathers that blended together seamlessly; creating an alluring plumage. the avian swooped toward the ground in an exhilarating whoosh of air, wings drawn and talons perfectly poised to spring upon the unsuspecting animal. it's depth less eyes glinted in the moonlight mysteriously. Suddenly, as if on a whim, the owl withdrew from it's hunt; elevating toward the waxy moon with a few beats of it's illustrious wings. it hovered briefly before coming to rest upon a deserted tree bough, talons curling securely around the branch and supporting its weight. The owl tucked it's wings precisely toward the sides of it's feathered body; resting them there as it hooted softly into the darkness; calling upon the night in a sweet lullaby.

OOC-Hope ya don't mind. ^^. (Image found on Google, reference image only, copyrights to it's respective owner.) Night had fallen over the forest and despite standing out, I decided to take a walk, familiarize myself more with the terrain, so I could figure out where the best grazing might be and what else I could find in the place that may be of interest. The moon was half covered by clouds and the air smelled of a possible rain soon. I half smiled as I started out into the distance. A gentle breeze was blowing and I paused, a forehoof off the ground as I breathed in. The cool air flowed down into the middle of my body. I laughed aloud and then, like a fawn I shot forward and ran a sprint before stopping again. Dark green grass stretched out before me and I Took a breath of the scents of wildflowers and stepped into the grasses, they were high. I dropped my head and cropped up an experimental taste. Delighting in the taste I decided I’d stay there. I glanced upward once and my orbs fell on the most beautiful thing I’d ever seen in the sky. An owl, it looked like it was white and gold. My orbs followed its progress as it flew through the air, dove and then I watched as it settled down into a nearby tree. I smiled and moved toward the tree. Under the tree the owl had landed in I looked up toward the branch and scanned for it. Thinking I’d found it, I spoke. “Greetings friend. Beautiful night isn’t it?” I asked as I fell silent awaiting the owl’s response. Far in the distant trees I heard a sound that had haunted my steps for a very long time, the sound of a wolf’s howl. I shuddered a little and then twitched my muscles as a mosquito landed upon my shoulder. Effectively the twitch scared her off and I returned my attention to the tree branches, the wolf was of little concern at the moment, for it was moving away not toward. I waited, my strong patience perfectly in line as I awaited the owl’s response. Muse~Eh...so-so Words~415 with coding Speaking Thoughts Speaking aloud to no one in particular Listening

the white figure darted daintily through the flora, catching glimfeathers eye with all it's light splendor. It seemed that even those bright points adorning the night sky paled in comparison; for they couldn't dare rival this unearthly being. one certain thing that it couldn't rival however was Luna herself. Her waxy palor and definite illumination could never be beaten, for she truly was like a Saviour -the nights Saviour- pushing back the tide of darkness in a never ending eternal battle.
The owl hooted once more; the sound fitting in so superbly with the nights musical forte. Those dark eyes of his - they weren't like 'windows to the soul' as so many had phrased before, but instead, for lack of a better word, like gaping holes in his skull. It was only when the light caught their round surface did it become apparent that they were indeed eyes. His creamy ivory feathers framed his heart shaped face so spectacularly like a perfectly tailored mask, darkening considerably in hue to form a round outline that differentiated face from breast.
The owl bobbed and weaved his head as if in curiosity, attempting to further improve his concept of this opaque creature. He leaned forward gradually from his tree perch, frighteningly sharp talons still firmly gripping it's circumference. The avian bestowed a curious eye to the mammal below him, It's voice soon carrying toward him though the nights chill air.
"That it is my dear, the moon has truly outdone herself tonight has she not? I am Glimfeather, Barn Owl and current resident of the East. It is my most humble pleasure to have met your acquaintance, and at what a beautiful time to. You see us owls we are mainly nocturnal animals, the daylight does very little in our favours. Our prey - though I do not hunt no more I swear!- are too mostly nocturnal. It is instinct that I am awake at the night and asleep during the day - it makes for very little companionship mind you."
The owl spoke with a wise voice, pronouncing each word to perfection. Although, much of what he said was either nonsense or of little interest to anyone. He tended to go off into the most boring and strangest of tandems, constantly expressing his opinions and views to all who would listen.
"Now on to another note now my dear, who are you?"

I watched it as the bird shifted, attempting so it seemed to get a better look. Then it spoke. That it is my dear, the moon has truly outdone herself tonight has she not? I am Glimfeather, Barn Owl and current resident of the East. It is my most humble pleasure to have met your acquaintance, and at what a beautiful time to. You see us owls we are mainly nocturnal animals, the daylight does very little in our favours. Our prey - though I do not hunt no more I swear!- are too mostly nocturnal. It is instinct that I am awake at the night and asleep during the day - it makes for very little companionship mind you. What an odd creature, but extremely wise. I smiled to myself as I looked upwards. Kind of a random tangent though. Oh well, more interesting that way.
I swished my tail a little and then perked up at Glimfeather’s next sentence, taking particular note of the words who and you. Now, on to another note my dear, who are you? I chuckled a little and answered. “Oh dear, I’ve forgotten my introduction, pardon my momentary lapse Glimfeather, I am Desiderata, deer and current member of the East also.” Then I remembered another couple of lines in his previous statement. “She has. My dearly departed fawn always enjoyed looking upon the moon, I haven’t the heart to give up that young buck’s fascination. And I can only imagine the lonliness night brings upon your kin. I too have little companionship at night.” This was quite the interesting chance encounter.
I heard a sound and looked down away from the tree and off of my right flank and caught sight of something moving, fearing a predator I watched a little longer. Watching the creature, I caught the glint of light from the eyes and let out a soft sigh, only a housecat. I watched as it stepped into the open and nodded as it slipped through the moon’s light. At least I assumed it was a housecat, from all the stories I’d managed to listen to in my fawn hood. Then I returned my gaze to the owl. “I forgot to mention Glimfeather, my friends just call me Desi. Tell me, do you know more about the other beings living here? Thus far I’ve only met our Lord Balthazar and you.” Then I fell silent waiting once more, my dark eyes fastened on the owl high above my head.

Glimfeather smiled (if it was even possible for owls to smile) warmly back at the doe, his eyes twinkling mysteriously in the moonlight. This new companionship caused delight to stir up within the owls pale breast, for he had always enjoyed company - as seldom as it was. This uplifting mood shattered like glass as he absorbed the does next sentences, causing his previous delight to fall back into the pit of his stomach.
"such cruelty!" he exclaimed, beak ajar in utter aghast at the doe's words. Whatever it was that made the world tick - be it a god, a spirit or a flying pig - it sure was not the kindest of things, for how could anyone permit such tragedy and horror in the world, as imperfect and flawed as it may be? The old owl scrambled for words as one might do in such a situation, albeit a little bit more dramatically. Patiently however, he held back the words threatening to spill; though they now nagged in the fore corner of his brain, chanting over and over like a mantra. He did not wish to upset the sweet deer, but his curiosity was almost insatiable and he had to ask, as rude as it may be. Glimfeather leaned forward toward the whitetail as if to divulge a secret or a piece of precious information, his dark eyes darting about quickly as they scanning the area for any bystanders or lurkers. He caught sight of the small mammal scurrying among the grasses and observed it carefully. He blinked his fathomless eyes once and twisted his head to an awkward angle of which only an owl could achieve, taking one deep breath before letting free verses of his own.
"My dear" he began in tenderly spoken words, his voice a low murmur "Dare I ponder as to what happened to your young fawn? or have I already overstepped the boundary with my foolish curiosity? I do not wish to upset you."
"And no, I have not met any others." he added as a side note, awaiting the others reply anxiously.
