Things were getting out of hand; much too quickly for her liking. Her systematic world was falling apart, no thanks to that beast who calls hismelf a King. She would have to keep her wits about her more than ever before, else she risked getting pulled further into this mess. And that was the last thing she wanted.
Yet, Nilak had somehow managed to slip past the guards, even the King himself to the outside world. Perhaps it had been an unwise idea to travel from her stronghold... no, prison was more accurate... but here she was, at the foot of Glacier Falls. Nobody would find her here. Nobody could even spot her through the heavy mist, let alone hear her, unless they were purposely looking for or stumbled upon her by accident. She would be safe here, for a short while at least.
A heavy sigh passed through her lips, breath condensing through all of the mist created by the falls. Barely visible, but there all the same. Brown eyes were distant, for their possessor was clearly lost in deep thought. Nilak had to be careful, much more careful than she had been in days now passed. He'd been much more lenient then. But things were much different now... so very different.
A glimpse of sadness entered her tired brown eyes then; if only he knew how much he was destroying her beautiful kingdom. She'd change everything if she could, but she simply did not have the power to do so. Her words meant little to the King now... though she couldn't be sure if they had ever meant anything to him in the first place. The words of a figurative prisoner never meant much to those of powerful rank.
The moments passed, and in that time the sadness began to morph into a much more sinister emotion; rage. Unbridled anger, pure and simple. Why, why was he allowing himself to rule this way? His own people were beginning to turn against him... and so was she. Though to be honest, she'd never exactly 'liked' him in the first place.
The polar bear got to her paws then, a swift and abrupt movement. A low growl was emanating from her throat, and her claws, sharp and deadly, were digging into the rocky soil.
"I will not tolerate this any longer... I'm going to change this. I don't know how... but change is on the wind, my King, whether your are prepared for it or not."
[ and so it begins. >:} since this thread is essentially a plot device, nobody needs to reply, but you can if you really want to. ]

[ooc hope you don't mind me replying =)]
Golden eyes tinted with green looked down on the snowy terrain as the female Gyrfalcon let the arctic winds carry her, as she searched for food. Her white body was splashed with black and dark brown spots and lines just like any other Gyrfalcon, though the black line that trailed behind her eyes to the edge of her feathered covered ears was enough to separate her from the common birds of her species.
As of now, she is a nomad, at the mercy of the winds and her wings, sense her mentor was killed by a polar bear. The memory was burned deep into her mind and she could never banish it, no mater how hard she tried. Firebird let her white lids close over her eyes for a moment trying to suppress the overwhelming feelings in her chest, which throbbed every time she pulled her massive wings down.
The feeling was lost when her eyes opened again and caught movement below. Firebird focused her excellent raptor eyesight on a large polar bear standing looking at what seemed to be nothing. The white gyrfalcon frowned and looked around the bear to see if any prey items were around as she let a warning call pass through her yellow, sharp beak. Kak kak kak which would have been "Polar bear in the area, go hide." to those who knew her language pierce the air before Firebird pulled in her wings and let herself fall into a dive on the white bear.
This large falcon never missed the chance to harass one of those nasty white bears for she had many hard feelings against them. They were destroying the Ice Kingdom so fast, she couldn't comprehend it. Quickly, the dive ended with a screech around the bear's white head aiming to scare it away. Firebird glided close to the ice a few yards before landed on a large ice mound, turning her head she glared at the bear. "Leave, you beast." Firebird cawed at the female bear, not hiding the anger in her guttural voice known to her species.
