Why here? Why here when he could be at his lovely home in the desert? He didn't know himself... He just decided to wander away from the desert for a bit and see a little bit more of the world. He didn't know why since it would have been really nice to just lay under a shady tree in the desert and sleep instead of walk around for the simple fact that there was no shelter... Still, the meadow was a very nice place. He couldn't remember the last time he had seen so much green grass and beautiful, yellow flowers...
The large, red kangaroo hopped at a leisurely pace. He didn't even bother to raise completely on his hind legs to hop, he instead used all fours. Taking steps with his shorter forelegs and then hopping with his hind legs. The sun shone down brightly on his back and he couldn't help but wish that he was under a tree at that moment. He would love to not be exposed to the sun, when he could be lying in the shade napping.
The kangaroo stopped and stood up to his full height; looking around for a tree. His ears drooped in disappointment as he didn't see any. With a sigh, he decided to lay down where he was.
He laid on his side with one arm on the ground, keeping him slightly propped up. His other paw was used to lazily scratch his belly, as his sleepy-looking eyes gazed around. He didn't see anything that looked even slightly dangerous here, not that much could really threaten a huge six-foot-something male kangaroo. He was no pushover and could fight if he needed to, he also wasn't afraid to do so. Although, it was so much easier to just lie on the ground and do nothing...
The red male yawned and rolled over onto his back. His powerful front legs were stretched into the air and his paws were rested on his belly. His heavily-lidded eyes stared at the clouds as they passed. He was quite happy at the moment just laying there like he was, even if he didn't have any trees to give him shelter. Things would be alright and maybe later on... Or the next day, he could travel back to the desert.

crunch . . crunch . . crunch . .
the young deer, geezell, grazed in the open plain for quite a while. the grass was delicious, or though she thought. and for once in her life, it seemed, that she was alone and free. no one around here had to be taken cared off, made sure they were happy. no, she was by herself, with herself. nothing could be better . . right? geezell half grinned to herself, but it was quite hard taken to the fact she also had her lips smacked to the grass. her teeth grasping some up as she chewed then swallowed.
she decided to take a break from that, since her stomach was growing larger, she was getting stuffed, and her jaw started to ache. chocolate brown eyes moved from place to place . . watching her surroundings. currently, no sign of life, nor had her long ears catch any sound of something, or someone closing up on her. just her in the open plain. alone.
this thought was building up on her, and she shuddered slightly. the thought of being alone here scared her, no one here to protect her, help her. plus the idea of someone closing up on her . . oh, she doesn't want to think of it. her head was now lowered, and her shoulders sank, though they were clearly higher then her head currently. her boney structure stand there, shaking up a storm. she had to get over this. but . . it was to much . . she was older now though, not younger as she used to be. at least it wasn't a thunderstorm. the sky looked quite clear, at least that's what geezell had caught a glimpse of before leaning down to shudder.
stop . . . she told herself, stop this . . it must . . end. with that, knees still shaking slightly, she picked herself up more. head, high now, shoulders more relaxed, and knees stopped shaking, she took one tiny step forward, and leaned her head back down towards the silky grass. her lips collided with the damp grass and she began to rip some out of it's ground, and chew.
crunch . . crunch . . crunch . .
she continued with that for a while, then decided to take yet another break. wonder through the plains a bit, shall i? she asked herself suddenly. and so, she did. her legs wobbled forward, and carried her off at a slow pace.
suddenly, her chocolate eyes caught sight of something brown-ish in the distance. she squinted, leaning her head closer to get a better look . . and within moments of staring at it, she spit out a short "oh!" when realizing it had been a kangaroo sitting in the distance.
she shook her head, long ears flapping all over, and started forward. quickening her pace. she wanted to meet this kangaroo, make sure he was feeling OK, the usual, up to his game. when, after a minute or so, reaching the kangaroo, geezell stopped shortly. "Hullo!" she started quickly, breathing hard, "do you feel okay? Do you need something - I could just go fetch you something - you know if you need it? I'm Geezell by the way!" and with that, she continued to stare at the kangaroo, chocolate brown eyes wide in excitement, as her smile grew bigger.

The male yawned again and scratched his cream-colored belly; getting at an extra-itchy place that he was sure was a flea had decided to bite. Darn critters! Always- The kangaroo's ears perked up as he heard something crunches through the grass. However, he dismissed the sound as some not important animal and went back to scratching. That was before he heard the voice.
"Hullo!"

Darzin lazily looked over at the owner of the voice. It was a young looking doe that had spoken. The kangaroo blinked at her and was about to offer his own greeting, but the female deer spoke again. "do you feel okay? Do you need something - I could just go fetch you something - you know if you need it? I'm Geezell by the way!" The kangaroo waited a few moments so he could be sure that the talkative doe was finished speaking. Then, he casually rolled back onto his side and propped himself up on an arm. His sleepy-looking eyes lazily glanced over the doe, then he spoke. "Whoi, hullo there, Miss Geezell. Oi happen to be just as roight as rain. I was just layin' 'ere restin' me legs." He couldn't even find it in his heart to be annoyed for being disturbed. The doe for some reason just felt the need to ask if he needed anything. He. A perfect stranger from the desert who could want to rip out her throat. Even though that would require more effort than he wanted to exert and besides, what would be the point? "Boi the way, moi name is Darzin. If ya care to know, Miss Geezell." As Dar looked at the deer he couldn't help but notice that smile. He also couldn't help giving one of his own, it was a bit contagious when you got right down to it. "So, what made ya check on a big ole' bruiser loike me? For all you knew I could have been lyin' in wait for some young sheila loike you ta come along and pounce." The kangaroo raised a forepaw to scratch behind one of his large ears as he lay there. although feeling protective, and naturing, motherly to this older kangaroo, the doe felt as though she were trespassing, but her words had already be said, her actions had already been done . . what was she to do now? wait, she assumed. wait for his answer. for, this older kangaroo didn't look like the killing type, or the riffraff type .. the mean type? who knows!
geezell stood there, shirt and stubby deer tail swishing to and fro, nose wrinkled up in excitement, mouth snapped shut, and eyes growing wider and wider by the minute .. second possibly, probably. now, she felt, like she needed to ask more questions, but as she was just about to open her mouth to speak again, the kangaroo beat her, and starting speaking, telling her his name .. his answer to her questions .. stuff that she wanted to hear apparently.
as it was her time to speak, she sagged her shoulders slightly, this kangaroo didn't need any help, anything at all! she was half surprised, half disappointed. hopefully he was actually feeling dandy, because if not, geezell would want to help him more. but this thought was slapped away as geezell rose her head slightly, the smile weakening on her lips, but she cleared her throat and began her tern at speech.
"Hello." she said again quickly, with a swing of the head, "Oh .. you're positive you're okay? I mean .. just to make sure -" -she added a medium sized smile- "- you truly are okay. Y'know. Oh, resting? Well that's nice, I suppose!" she added cheerfully. maybe the kangaroo would let her sit .. who knows? she had no where else to go, no one else to meet. this was her free day, like any other.
"Oh . . oh! Nice ter meet you Darzin! Again, my name's Geezell." she said with a slight giggle, but smiled brightly at darzin again. and as he continued to talk, her smile weakened. "Oh, nature, I suppose. I jsut see someone and go into mothering mode .. weird really." said geezell, her smile fading, but she regained it again as her chocolate eyes glanced upon darzin, glittering in the sunlight.

Dar watched the doe... She seemed to be slighlty deflated after he first spoke... Why? Was it something he'd said? He went back over his words and didn't find anything wrong with him. Oh dear, maybe he had found some crazy sheila, or rather she had had found him, but the point was that she could be crazy... He hoped not but that's what it seemed to be.
"Oh .. you're positive you're okay? I mean .. just to make sure -you truly are okay. Y'know. Oh, resting? Well that's nice, I suppose!" The kangaroo inclined an eyebrow and thumped his thick tail on the ground once, flattening a few flowers in the process. A thing that came to him as a side note was that the doe was still standing, did she want to sit? It was enough room and she was saying that resting was nice... You couldn't really rest as good standing as you could sitting... "Yeah, restin' is very noice. In fact, it's so noice that Oi do a bit o' restin' whenever Oi get the chance.
|
To emphasize his point he yawned widely. "Oi find that if ya work too much ya get tired out." Although he had never really worked hard a day in his life. "Oh, nature, I suppose. I jsut see someone and go into mothering mode .. weird really." Darzin blinked. "Quoite... It must also be quoite tirin' to run 'round helpin' folks all the toime. Ever sit down ta rest?" He said his last sentence with inflection in his voice. Hinting that if she wished she could sit down with him and talk, he would enjoy the company. Now that he thought over what the doe had said... Maybe she wasn't crazy after all... Maybe she just tried to help people too much. That seemed like it could wear down anyone... "Well, have ya ever tried to resist this 'motherin' nature mode'? Oi mean, not everyone ya meet is gonna need your 'elp and Oi'm sure most you'll be able ta tell if they need your help. Just moi humble opinon anyway." He smiled charmingly and looked at the doe with his sleepy black eyes. [/blockquote][/blockquote]
